This is my Second Blog Post Ever

So the new family went out to the East Coast for New Years to visit the Grandparents. Noah's not even 1 yet and this will be his 9th airplane ride. Traveling with the little dude is like trying to bring a cat on the plane and have it sit in your lap for 6 hours. It's all good until an eye gets scratched out and a big dump is taken in the aisle.

Here are some photos...

Are you serious Dad? You woke me up at 4:45 am to drive from Squamish to North Van, stuck me on a boat and a train, only to have to turn around an do it all again tomorrow because your passport is expired? Who's the 1 year old here?

Ok I forgive you, this Chicago airport is SO AWESOME!

Seriously Mom, we have to come here more often.

My dad thinks he can play the piano. I'm standing on it right now and banging out a C# minor arpeggio with my toes. My abilities have clearly surpassed his own.

Just some good times on New Year's Day, just before my first ever birthday party.

This party is off the hook! Check out this spread! Blueberries, whip cream, bananas, some weird star-shaped fruit I'm having a hard time getting off the plate. Crazy!

I really can't say enough about how much fun we're having right now, seriously. My mom's great, it's snowing, dad just whipped me around on the sled, I crashed a few times. You shoulda been there.
It was so sick.

On to some photos of other things besides the dude. I haven't been up to much with the camera lately but came back from the East Coast with a couple of nice ones...

This is possibly Red Winterberry (Ilex verticillata) for all you East Coast dendrophiles out there. Nerds.

Fallen seed cone of the majestic eastern white pine (Pinus strobus). Interestingly, there is very little white pine blister rust in this mixed coniferous stand on Kate's parents property. NERD!

A lovely little meandering stream out in the back forty. Minus 10 C means not many shots here.

Formerly a yellow birch (Betula alleghaniensis). I believe this tree met its end by my hand several years earlier while cleaning up the viewscape towards the pond in the background. Braaap.

Beauty shot of some American Ash leaves on the edge of the pond (Fraxinus americana). It's a tree and some snow.

Cat tail in winter.
